The importance of optimizing technology and America

The economy slows to a crawl and technology (which is something that shameless eats a good deal of US money dollars) starts to chug and drag it's heels on advancement. This is why it's important that America does not fall behind. Quantum Mechanics and computing is merely a dream away but if the rest of society cannot function on its basic principles it has chosen for itself, then the dream is lost. We bare witness to multicore processors, better and brighter displays, and more stable dependable software development and streamlining. I come stating this today out of boredom. Boredom that I have to wait.

Yes. Waiting..........
......................

Please wait.......... DONE

Right now I have to wait. I'm waiting on two operations on my Mac Pro. The first is a surface scan on a new hard-drive to check for any bad sectors (just in case). The second is a file transfer which is over a half-gigabyte large coming in at about 90kbps. These two events could be happening or have happened instantaneously. Instead due to the "chunky" mechanical nature of a modern hard-drive a surface scan cannot be instant that I am aware of and certainly not any consumer market. Where is this holodrive everyone was talking about many years ago? Are we falling behind in technology so bad that we have to succumb to getting excited over some stupid new iPod? Seriously, there were MP3 players well out before the iPod. Granted Apple did some things different and made it easier for new users to jump into, but conceptually it was nothing that new. A new kind of drive that can read, write, and seek data all instantaneously? That's new to me. And forget Solid State HDs. They don't impress. Secondly, the broadband. Quantum Mechanics please come now! We all would love to download large files ones in full HD (or beyond) instantly such as our favorite band performing live and definitely not for porn (the internet is for porn).

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some waiting to do.

From what I hear, HD porn is actually quite disgusting. I wouldn't know as all my hardware is pre-Obama (P.Ob.) at the latest.
